Jack Bennett “Benny” Heafner Jr., age 62, of Cherryville died January 29, 2013 at home.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3 p.m., January 31, 2013 in Cone Memorial Chapel of Carpenter’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m., prior the service at the funeral home.

Sally Ashcraft Ballard, 85, of Harrisburg died January 29, 2013.

Pearl Irene Woodard Helton
Pearl Irene Woodard Helton, 90, of Maiden passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her residence.
She was born March 3, 1922 in Lincoln County, to the late Wiley and Ada Helton Woodard. Pearl was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church and was retired from Moretz Hosiery in Newton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, James Powell Helton; two brothers, Wiley Woodard Jr., and Alvin Woodard; and two sisters, Margaret Christopher and Vertie Holbrooks.
Survivors include daughters, Pat Lee of Newton, Brenda Lail of Conover, Sue Loftin of Taylorsville, Shelia Lineberger and husband Carroll of Terrell, Barbara Auton and husband Ted of Lincolnton, Jerry H. Burris of Newton; thirteen grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Ballard of Catawba.
A Celebration of Life for Pearl Irene Woodard Helton was held on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church in Maiden. The Rev. Jamie Auton, and the Rev. Raymond Hamrick officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The Helton family received friends Tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church in Maiden.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers: Michael Loftin, Carroll Lineberger Jr., Marty Lee, Jason Lail, Jamie Auton and Brandon Burris

Margaret Ruth George Heavner Hawkins
Margaret Ruth George Heavner Hawkins, 89, passed away on January 27, 2013 and went to be with her Lord in Heaven.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Southside Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Charles Ingle and Rev. Doug McClain officiating.
She was born October 14, 1923 in Lincolnton. She was predeceased by her parents, the late Johnny Mack and Maggie Queen George; six sisters; two brothers, and her first husband, Robert Wayne Heavner. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for over 50 years and also a past member of The Order of Eastern Star.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Robert H. “Hawk” Hawkins after 57 years of marriage; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Heavner and wife Ann of Lincolnton and Rob Hawkins and wife Nancy of Newton; seven grandchildren, Lisa Heavner of Lincolnton, Von Heavner of Gastonia, Tallie Marie Stempien and husband Todd of Lincolnton, Rachel, Sarah and Rebekah Hawkins of Newton, and Kenny Michael of Lincolnton; and five great-grandchildren, Nicolas and Nash Heavner of Gastonia, Keely, Konnor, and Kenna Stempien of Lincolnton; as well as a number of nieces and nephews including Gloria Reid, Linda Baxter, Mike Dellinger, Janice Whitesides, and Jeffrey Reid, all of Lincolnton.

William Franklin ‘Frank’ Rudisill
Mr. William Franklin “Frank” Rudisill, age 70, of 4394 Buffalo Shoals Road in Maiden, died on Monday, January 28, 2013.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Matthews and Rev. Bob Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The body will lie in state for thirty minutes prior to the service. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Rudisill was born August 22, 1942 in Lincoln County to the late Clarence P. and Marzella Grant Rudisill. He worked in textiles.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Drum Rudisill of the home; one son, David Rudisill of Conover; one daughter, Cindy Crede and husband Brian of Maiden; three brothers, Earl Rudisill of Maiden, Everette Rudisill of Newton, and Jim Rudisill of Hickory; and three grandchildren.
