Polly Cummings McMahan
Polly Cummings McMahan, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and Denver passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. She was born in Asheville on December 31, 1940 to Linton Cummings and Vera Metcalf Cummings of which both preceded her in death.
She is loved and missed by her husband, C. Richard of 49 years; son Richard E. and wife Dale; daughter Kimberley Renee and husband Tod; brother Eddie and brother Rick and wife Helen.
Polly (Nana) will also be sorely missed by her four grandchildren Ashton, Thad, Matt and Abby. They were her pride and joy and she especially enjoyed helping with things like creating boxes for Samaritan Purse’s Operation Christmas Child, helping decorate gingerbread men for Santa Claus’s Christmas Eve snack, and an avid fan of all their many activities.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Polly’s honor at Denver United Methodist Church with the Pastors Jeff Johnsen and Jeff Harris officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Family Life Center.

Carole Long Sain Jones
Carole Long Sain Jones, age 64, of 1122 Tree Haven Trail in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, January 28, 2013 at New Vision Ministries cemetery with Rev. Daniel Arant officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jones was born October 19, 1948 in Lincoln County to the late J.D. and Elizabeth Faulkenbury Long. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Eugene Jones of the home; one brother, Jerry Long of Lincolnton; one sister, Patsy Crump of Crouse; two grandchildren, Justin Sain and Ashley Sain; and four great-grandchildren, Kensley Sain, Mallorie Styles, Caiden Styles, and Shawn Scoggins.

Julia Howell Eudy
Julia Howell Eudy, age 52, of Salem Church Road in Lincolnton, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Andy Royals officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mrs. Eudy was born April 15, 1960 in Mecklenburg County to the late Jerome Ernest Howell and Hilda Huntley Belliveau and husband John Belliveau. She worked as a Registered Nurse and thoroughly enjoyed being able to assist in the care of others. She loved the Lord and enjoyed volunteering at her church.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny A. Eudy of the home; a son, Kevin Eudy and wife Heather of Belmont; a daughter, Candace E. Jackson and husband Jack of Charlotte; and three grandchildren, Saphira Jackson, Jade Jackson, and Braylon Eudy. Her brothers and sisters include Mark Howell and wife Lynette of Indian Trail, Kathryn Flowe of Charlotte, David Belliveau and wife Ellen of Dallas, N.C., Ron Belliveau of Charlotte; and Gay Koenemann and husband Juergen of Germany.

Bobby Cole, 66, of Conover died January 22, 2013.
A funeral service will be held January 26, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Claremont. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends January 26, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the church, prior to the service.

Robert Garry Loretz, 67, of Maiden died January 24, 2013.
Funeral services will be held January 26, 2013 at 2 p.m. in White’s Family Chapel at Ebony & White’s Funeral Service with burial to follow in Tucker’s Grove United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Johnny Adam Neal
HIGH SHOALS — Johnny Adam Neal, 72 went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 23, 2013 at his home.
He was a native of Lincoln Co., born June 18, 1940 to the late Daniel Ervin and Ruth Hayes Neal.
He was a member of Salem Baptist Church Lincolnton. He was employed for 30 years at Carolina Mills.
Johnny was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to anyone he met.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Florence Trammell Neal; son, Alvin Neal and wife Kathy of Dallas; sister, Betty Neal Burgin of Belivia; brother, Charles Franklin Neal of Stanley; granddaughter, Britany Lockridge; and grandson Matthew Lockridge.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church Lincolnton. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 4 p.m. at the church with Dr. Andy Royals officiating. Interment will be at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Neal, Tony Neal, Terry Neal, Rusty Welch, Chris Stamey and Travis Davis.
