Airman Smith completes basic
Air Force Airman Timothy T. Smith graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Smith is a 2008 graduate of North Lincoln High School.
Dayton receives Eagle Scout badge
Michael Dayton received his Eagle Scout Badge on Oct. 29 at Alexis Baptist Church.
He is a senior at East Lincoln High School, where he played in the marching band for four years and wrestled for two years.
He is part of the youth group at Alexis Baptist Church.
He has been in boy scouts since he was in third grade.

His project was a flag pole at the edge of the cemetery at Alexis Baptist Church in honor of his grandfather, Ray Devine.
His flag pole is made with landscaping blocks and lots of flowers and benches.
His mother is Renae Dayton, and his sister is Cortney Cheshire. Dixie Devine is his grandmother.
