Book collection effort

Three West Lincoln High School students started a book-collection project last year. They collected and distributed more than 1,000 books to students at Union Elementary School last May. They recently presented their plans for the 2012-2013 school year to the Rotary Club. Their goal is to excite young readers by putting books into all young hands and prevent the “Summer Slide” by encouraging children to read throughout the summer. For those interested in donating gently used or new books for children in grades K-5, please bring them to Union School in Vale.
