Clyde William Lutz
CONOVER — Clyde William Lutz, 87, of Conover passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Conover Nursing Home and Rehab in Conover.
Born June 22, 1925 in Gaston County, he was the son of the late Samuel Cordie and Edna Plonk Lutz. He worked for Carolina Freight in Cherryville for 20 years as a carrier driver and Carolina Freight in Conover for 15 years in sales. He was the National Driver of the Year for 4 years. Mr. Lutz was a member of Philadelphia Lutheran Church in Dallas, NC and attended St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Claremont for 20 years. He was also a member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge 505 and Catawba Valley Traffic Club. The family would like to thank the staff of Conover Nursing & Rehab for their care and also the many friends for their visits, prayers and support.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Houston Lutz; and a sister, Catherine Lutz.
Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Charlsie Moser Lutz; children, Vickie Beam and husband Wesley of Dallas, NC, Clyde Dean Lutz and wife Ginger of Lincolnton, Maria Wright and husband Trent of Claremont, Vanessa Arndt and husband Gary of Claremont, and Bradley Little and wife Kim of Claremont; grandchildren, Matthew Beam and wife Ashley, Jesse Beam and wife Randi, Zachary Beam, Ashley Arndt, Lyndsi Sigmon and husband Wesley, Erica Bernardt and husband Bernie, Morgan Wright, Ashley Queen and husband Billy, Kelly Scott and husband Brendon; great grandchildren, Jackson, Davis, Emma, Braylon, Luke, Drew, Trey, Ashleigh, McKenna, Kalobe, Cassie, Noah, Sawyer and Kimber; sister and brother-in-law, Patricia Helderman and husband Jim of Dallas, NC.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Claremont with Rev. Gary Haddock officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Philadelphia Lutheran Church Cemetery in Dallas, NC with Rev. Gary Weant officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. today at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

GASTONIA — David Milburn, age 64, passed away January 13, 2013 at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia.
He was born January 17, 1948 in Lincolnton, son of the late Luther and Mary Davis Milburn. David was a longtime fan of Dirt Track Racing, having been known as “Willie” when he drove dirt track cars at Lincoln County Speedway, Thunder Valley, Carolina Speedway and Cherokee Speedway.

He is survived by his son, Scotty Milburn and his wife, Barbara; daughter, Jennifer Rice and her husband, Jason; brother, Johnny Milburn; sister, Cathy Black; grandchildren, Danielle, Lydia, Addison and Alex.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie “The Picture Lady” Milburn; brother, Tommy Milburn.

Kathleen Leonard Huss
CHERRYVILLE — Kathleen Leonard Huss, age 101, of Carolina Care Center of Cherryville, and formerly of 1105 JW Huss Road in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, January 13, 2013.
Her funeral service will be 4 p.m. today at Bethphage Lutheran Church with Pastor Robert Mitschke officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service in the Family Life Center at Bethphage Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Huss was born April 1, 1911 in Lincoln County to the late Daniel and Robena Hull Leonard. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Walter Huss; three brothers, Clifford, Austin, and Russell Leonard; and five sisters, Emma Hoover, Vernie Scronce, Ella Heavner, Mary Royster, and Essie Heavner.
She is survived by a son, Jerry W. Huss and wife Penny; a daughter, Judy H. Martin and husband Dale of Lincolnton; two grandchildren, Lisa H. Noles and husband Mark of Lincolnton, and Ryan Willis of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two great-grandsons, Jake and Carson Noles.

Celestine ‘Sis’ Little Keever
Celestine “Sis” Little Keever, age 67, of 777 Pettus Land in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.

Mrs. Keever was born November 7, 1945 in Lincoln County to the late Otis Ray and Alice Mitchum Little. She worked in textiles.
She is survived by her husband, William Keever of the home; one son, David Keever of Lenoir; one daughter, Tina Keever of Lincolnton; one brother, Darrell Little; a sister, Jean Hoover; two grandchildren, Dustin White and Joseph Allen Keever; and two great-grandchildren, Landon Keever and Joseph Allen Keever Jr.

Rev. Ernest John Sisk
DENVER — Rev. Ernest John Sisk, age 86, of 5160 King Wilkinson Road in Denver, died on Tuesday, January 15, 2013.
His funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Denver Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Griggs officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Rev. Sisk was born June 3, 1926 in Lincoln County to the late Roy Franklin and Nellie Houk Sisk. He retired as pastor emeritus at Denver Baptist Church.
He is survived by three daughters, Joyce S. Roberts and husband Earl and Sandra S. Jennings and husband Donald, all of Lincolnton, and Brenda S. Hallman and husband Vaughn of Denver; one son, Gary Sisk and wife Fay of Conover; two brothers, Bob Sisk and Graham Sisk, both of Lincolnton; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
