The East Lincoln Mustangs boys varsity basketball team made short work of the Cherryville Ironmen on Tuesday, taking an 88-57 win in Southern Piedmont Conference action.
East Lincoln freshman Chazz Surratt scored a career-high 25 points. Junior Domonique Smith scored 15 points and senior Tyler Brock added 14 points for the Mustangs (9-3, 3-1 SPC).
East Lincoln scored 22 first-quarter points while holding Cherryville to five points. The Mustangs outscored the Ironmen 23-19 in the second quarter and took a 60-42 lead into the fourth quarter.
East Lincoln outscored Cherryville 28-15 in the fourth quarter.
Spencer Stamey and Kenny Poston both scored 11 points to pace Cherryville.
The Mustangs travel to Lincolnton on Friday. Cherryville travels to Bessemer City.
