Ministry exceeds goal, but need remains high

Although Christian Ministry has already handed out toys and food boxes to hundreds of needy families across the area as part of their annual Christmas Fund, the organization is continuing to seek community donations for the project through New Year’s Day.
With a target goal of $50,000, Christian Ministry far exceeded that total early-on in the holiday fundraiser, more than doubling the amount through just week four.
Even so, the nonprofit organization has struggled over the last year to maintain the necessary amount of food to supply its various programs including the soup kitchen, which feeds more than 100 people each day.
Since Christian Ministry commenced its Christmas Fund project last month, both monetary and food donations have poured in from numerous county schools, churches, businesses, civic groups and residents with a heart for the hungry, but the need remains substantial.
