Jimmy Ernest Hoyle
Mr. Jimmy Ernest Hoyle, age 82, of 107 Sigmon Road in Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Hollybrook Cemetery with Pastor Tommy Conder officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. today atWarlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Hoyle was born October 14, 1930 in Lincoln County to the late Hillard J. and Myrtle Baxter Hoyle. He worked as a truck driver for Seth Lumber Company.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Jean Canipe Hoyle of the home; one son, Larry Hoyle and wife Jan of Lincolnton; one daughter, Tami Hoyle of the home; one brother, Kenneth Hoyle of Cary; one sister, Daphine Houser of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Shane Bumgarner, Traci Dellinger and husband Mike, and Shelli Jenkins and husband Scott; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Dellinger, Noah Jenkins, and Cortney Jenkins.

Robert ‘Grumpy’ Blanton Martin
Robert “Grumpy” Blanton Martin, age 66, of Lincolnton, died on Wednesday, December 19, 2012.
A service of celebration will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 in theWarlick Funeral HomeChapel with Rev. William Faulkner and Rev. Bill Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mr. Martin was born August 20, 1946 in Columbus, Ky. to the late Robert Alvin and Ruth Webb Martin. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a
daughter, Shannon Marie Martin, and a brother, Edward Ray Hopper. He was retired from McWhirter Grading Company in Charlotte.
Mr. Martin served in the United States Navy as a radarman during the Vietnam War. In 2012, he was elected the VFW Veteran of the year in Lincoln County.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanelle F. Martin of the home; a daughter, Nancy Faulkner Beatenhead and husband David of Lincolnton; one brother, Billy Russell Hopper of Vale; one sister, Brenda Langley of Lincolnton; two grandsons, Devin Beatenhead and Daniel Beatenhead; a great-granddaughter, Peighton Beatenhead; two nephews, Nathan Haynes and Billy Hopper and wife Kim of Lincolnton.

Donald Edward Kiser
STANLEY — Donald Edward Kiser, age 84, died Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.
His funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Hills Chapel United Methodist Church Family Life Center with Rev. Dr. Valerie Rosenquist officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Immediately following the committal service, the family will receive friends in The Nelson Center at Hills Chapel. At other times, the family will be at the home.
Mr. Kiser was born in Concord, a son of the late John William Kiser, father, and Hettie Cornelius Kiser, mother. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, John William Kiser Jr., as well as a son, Nelson Carl Kiser.
He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Frances McIntosh Kiser; his son, Gregory Edward Kiser; a daughter, Faye Kiser Cavin and husband Robert Wentworth Cavin of Huntersville; his youngest daughter, Emily Kiser May and husband Charles Raysor May IV; and two grandchildren, Emily Matheson May and Charles Raysor May V, both of Columbia, S.C.; his brother, Kenneth and wife Deloris; and sister, Juanita Kiser Comer. In addition, he is survived by his seventeen nieces and nephews.
He attended The Brawley School, and afterwards enlisted in the United States Navy until 1952. While on active duty, he served during the Korean War aboard the USS St. Paul. Following his years of service, he began his career with PC Godfrey, Inc. in Charlotte where he worked until his retirement in 1990. He was an active member of American Legion Post #455 of Denver. He was also a member of Hills Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served on the Cemetery Committee, and was recognized as a leader among The Methodist Men. He was a devoted husband, father, and proud grandfather whose hobbies included gardening, farming, fishing and family.
