The former Ryan’s property on North Generals Boulevard in Lincolnton is set to see life again.
Lincoln County Schools Director of Child Nutrition Byron Sackett has confirmed that he is planning to open a new restaurant at the site, to be called Homestead’s Grill and Tap House. Sackett was formerly the manager of the FATZ restaurant on East Main Street in Lincolnton.
A sign is currently placed out front announcing the new business.
As the Times-News previously reported, Ryan’s was shut down this past spring in a round of closings for restaurants owned by Buffets, Inc., which had filed for bankruptcy early this year.
The Lincolnton location was deemed an underperforming restaurant by the chain.
As part of a Chapter 11 restructuring agreement, the company stated that it planned to eliminate outstanding debt and strengthen its portfolio.
At the time, a spokeswoman for the company told the Times-News that Buffets, Inc. was preparing to market the property for sale.
