A Lincolnton man, accused in connection with a sex-related incident two months ago with two young girls, may face additional charges in the case, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies said Wesley Dean Cody, 46, of Hovis Road, inappropriately touched two girls, ages 10 and 11, on Oct. 26, according to a press release.
He turned himself him in to the Magistrate’s Office on Thursday and was charged with two felony counts of indecent liberties with a child and one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon, after deputies located a firearm at his residence, the release said.
Cody has a felony record in the county from 1995, when a judge convicted him of selling a schedule VI controlled substance, the North Carolina Department of Correction website showed.
He has since posted a $25,000 secured bond.
Sheriff’s Detective Sally Dellinger is heading the case, which is ongoing.
