Sandi Korené Duckworth Byrd Davis
Sandi Korené Duckworth Byrd Davis was born on May 20, 1971 to Isom Lee Duckworth and Ida-Menetta Charles Duckworth in Tacoma, Wash. She departed this life on November 15, 2012 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh.
Sandi had a kind heart and a loving spirit; she was raised in a Christian family and accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age. She was a loving mother and friend to many in Durham where she made her home.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her former husbands, Michael Lee Arron Byrd Sr. and John Edward Davis III; three children, William Santario Byrd, stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, Michael Lee Arron Byrd Jr. of the home, and Breanna Nicole Bryd of the home; her mother, Ida-Menetta Duckworth of Lincolnton; father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Isom Lee Duckworth of Pine Bluff, Ark., and brother, Gary Carnell Duckworth of Yuma, Ariz. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles and other relatives, cousins, and friends.
Services were Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 12 noon at Scarborough and Hargett Funeral Home, Durham and Friday, November 23, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle of Blessings Apostolic Ministry, Lincolnton.
Ebony and Whites was in charge of local arrangements.
Geraldine Baker Dellinger
CROUSE — Geraldine Baker Dellinger, age 87, of 3477 Crouse School Road, died Thursday, November, 29, 2012 at Carolina Medical Center Lincolnton. She was born in Gaston County on April 15, 1925, the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Etta Austin Baker. Geraldine retired from the Carlton Yarn Mill, Cherryville and later worked in Food Services for Gaston County School System and Keystone of Cherryville. Geraldine was a member of Crouse United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eli Dellinger; daughter-in-law, Nelta Dellinger; and five sisters, Flossie Coffee, Evelyn Sellers, Irene Ramsey, Virginia Tate, and Pauline Craighead.
Survivors are sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy Dellinger of Denver, Dennis Dellinger of Vale, Curtis and Zelda Dellinger of Gastonia; daughters and sons-in-law, Paulette and Ronnie Sain of Vale, Kay and Larry Wise of Lincolnton; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one sister, Inez B. Bridges of Cherryville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Crouse United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service with burial to follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 182, Lincolnton. The family will be at the home and will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, Cherryville.

Angela Elaine Hayes Hovis
Angela Elaine Hayes Hovis, age 55, of Lincolnton passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 31, 1957 in Gaston County to Elaine Baker Kanold of Lincolnton and the late William Richard Hayes.
She was a member of Gainsville Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, Eddie Hovis of the home; one daughter, Anna Hovis of the home; two brothers, Richard Hayes and William Hayes, both of Lincolnton; and one sister, Susan Plott of Lincolnton.
Services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Gainsville Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Mike Rice will officiate.

Megan Beam Heidt
June 6, 1924 – November 23, 2012
RALEIGH — Megan Guest Beam Heidt passed peacefully to be with her Lord on November 23, 2012 at the Oaks of Mayview in Raleigh.
Megan was the daughter of the late Henkel and Augusta Beam. She was born in Crouse and lived her childhood on the family farm.
She was a member of Bethphage Lutheran Church.
At 18, Megan moved to Asheville where she worked for Postal Accounts during World War II, married Herbert A. Wallace, and became an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Megan opened Wallace Day Nursery in the family home on Hillside Street. Megan kept her business open for 21 years, beginning each day with a Bible story, providing loving arms, lots of space to run and play, education and a strong faith in God.
In 1977, Megan married Herb Heidt and lived on Oak Island. After Herb’s death, she moved to a retirement community near Raleigh.
Megan was preceded in death by siblings Harlee Beam, Pat Heavner, Doris Nelson, and Mahn Loy.
She is survived by sister, Hallin Coolidge Heavner of Shelby; daughter, Nedra Hallin Wilson and husband Mark Wilson of Black Mtn.; daughter, Lisa Wallace and husband Paul Bryson of Raleigh; grandchildren, Nigel Wilson and Kate Wilson of Wilmington, and Cody Bryson of Raleigh as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, 7300 Sunset Lake Rd., Fuquay-Varina, NC on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A Celebration of Life is also being planned for the future in Asheville.
Flowers are welcome as well as donations to Hospice of Wake County or Abiding Presence APPLEseeds pre-school.
Megan was a remarkable woman, a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. Her life was an example of hard work, perseverance, courage, and faith. She will be deeply missed.

Bernice Robinson Caldwell, 86, of Maiden died November 28, 2012.
A graveside service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Mt. Ruhama Baptist Church, Maiden. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Burke Mortuary, Newton and received friends on November 29, 2012 from 6 until 7:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary, Newton.

Jimmy Lee Crouse, 60, of Denver died November 28, 2012.
To honor Jimmy’s wishes there will be no service scheduled.
