Deputies are on the hunt for a missing Denver teen who was last seen Sunday evening at her residence.

Family of Amanda Marie Atkins, 16, of Lake Shore Road South, told the Sheriff’s Office she was at home around 5:30 p.m. but was not in her room when they checked at 10:20 p.m., according to a press release.

The teen fled the residence through a window, the release said.

Sheriff’s detectives think the blond-haired, green-eyed girl may be in Gaston or Lincoln counties.

She is described as being 5-foot-1 and weighing 115 pounds.

The Sheriff’s Office, which has considered her a runaway, said Atkins dropped out of North Lincoln High School a couple of weeks ago.

Anyone with information on the teen’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 732-9050, the Lincoln County Communications Center at (704) 735-8202or call 911.
