Crime Fighters’ Night
Charles R. Jonas Library in Lincolnton will host “Crime Fighters’ Night” with McGruff the Crime Dog and Sheriff’s deputies 6:30 p.m. Monday. Parents will receive finger printing kits and learn to create a record that could help identify a missing child. Police officers will also talk about stranger danger and how to stay safe. Nutrition meetings
Lincoln County Senior Services in Lincolnton will host nutrition meetings on COPD and diabetes 10-11 a.m. at East Lincoln Community Center in Denver, with guest speaker Mary Elder from AVID, and 2-4 p.m. at the Nutrition Office. For more information, call (704) 736-8811.

Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. tues at CMC-Lincoln, 433 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton.


Prayer Breakfast
The Lincoln County Family YMCA will host their annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast 6:45 a.m. at the James W. Warren Citizens Center in downtown Lincolnton. A service will follow at 7:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Andy Calhoun, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, and The Green House Jazz Ensemble will be the featured entertainment. Blair Wise family and friends will have a reunion at noon at Bethpage Lutheran Church, 3440 N.C. 182 in Lincolnton.

Thanksgiving dinner

LHS 1972 reunion
Lincolnton High School’s Class of 1972 will hold their 40-year reunion at Vesuvius Vineyards in Iron Station with a family picnic at 2 p.m. followed by music and fellowship until 10 p.m. There will also be a silent auction. Parade/Tree Lighting
The 2012 Lincolnton Christmas Parade will be 4 p.m. in downtown Lincolnton. Line-up will be 1-3 p.m. in the parking lot of Lincolnton High School. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will follow at 5:30 p.m. on the east side of Court Square. Vendors will be on hand with cotton candy, funnel cakes, candied apples and more. Folk singer
Ed Kilbourne, folk singer and storyteller, will perform 4 p.m. at Asbury UMC, 3097 Asbury Ch. Rd. in Lincolnton.

Advocacy Center event
Tickets are currently available for the “Casino Royale Charity Gala” 6-11 p.m. Dec. 15 at Vesuvius Vineyards. Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse & Child Advocacy Center along with First Federal Savings Bank is sponsoring the fundraiser. The event will feature a roaring twenties theme with a Texas hold’em poker tournament with celebrity and professional guest dealers along with black jack, roulette tables and other casino-type attractions, food and entertainment.
