Margaret Perry Campbell Abernathy of Maiden died November 8, 2012.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held November 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Maiden. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory.

Christi Bivens Armstrong Pittillo

Mrs. Christi Bivens Armstrong Pittillo, 44, of Cherryville died November 13, 2012.

Visitation will be today from 1:15 until 2:15 p.m. at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church and at other times the family will be at the home of her father, 677 Flint Hill Rd. Cherryville. Funeral Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church. Burial will be at Daniels Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lincolnton.

Mildred Nina Sue Setzer Wagner, 77, of Granite Falls died November 15, 2012.

Visitation will be today from 7 until 8 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 8 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private.

Patricia Ann Lawing

IRON STATION — Patricia Ann Lawing, of 4417 E. Highway 27 in Iron Station, passed away.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 17, 2012 in the Iron Station Cemetery.

Ms. Lawing was born in Lincoln County to the late Woodrow and Lois Primm Lawing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Lawing Jr. and a sister, Betty Lawing. She was retired from Talon Zipper Company.

She is survived by two sisters, Carol Lippard and husband Ernest of Iron Station, and Vickie Jarrett and husband Samuel of Charlotte.

Memorials may be made to Iron Station United Methodist Church, 4777 E. Highway 27, Iron Station, NC 28080.

Barbara Freeman

Barbara Jean Poole Freeman, age 74, died peacefully at her home in Greenville, S.C. on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. Born in Lincolnton, she was the daughter of William Adolphus Poole and Cammie Elizabeth Setzer.  She was a member of the Mountain Creek Baptist Church.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband Bob Freeman of Greenville; two daughters, Debbie Mason and husband Dan, and Dawn Freeman, both of Greenville; a son, Tim Freeman and his wife Beverly of Laurens, S.C.; two sisters, Billie Wilkinson of Crouse and Josephine Crouse of Iron Station and two brothers, Jimmy Poole of Lincolnton and Nelson Poole of Charlotte. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Cammie Mason Vaughn and Jessica Pinson and three great-grandchildren, Tyler Alewine, Madison Alewine and Mason Tucker Vaughn.

The family will receive friends at Woodlawn Funeral Home on Saturday, November 17, 2012 from         11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with funeral services immediately following at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Sarah Loraine Saunders Alshaer

Sarah Loraine Saunders Alshaer, age 58, of 713 E. Sumner Street in Lincolnton, died on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012 in theWarlick Funeral HomeChapel with Rev. Dr. Stanley Spence officiating.

Ms. Alshaer was born June 22, 1954 in Atlanta, Ga. to the late Darrell and Girtha Bridges Saunders.  She was an activities coordinator.

She is survived by two sons, Jason Beard and wife Suzanne of Maiden and Daniel Alshaer of Cary; daughter, Allison Ann Owens and husband Sam Hamam of Gastonia; two sisters, Sharon Starr and husband Kevin of Crouse and Lee Ann Beach and husband Mac of Ariz.; and four grandchildren.
