Deputies seek tips on at-large drug suspects

More than a dozen people, five of whom are out-of-county residents, remain at-large in connection with last month’s countywide drug round-up initiated by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies remain on the hunt for 14 of the more than 50 individuals indicted in “Operation Route 66,” the fourth and largest drug effort in county history.

The initiative, which commenced Oct. 24, targeted drug users and dealers in and around the community for possession of illegal substances including heroin, marijuana, cocaine and prescription pills, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies are looking for the following individuals:

  • William Thomas Black, 56, of Charlotte
  • Lester Bynum, Jr. 59, of Iron Station
  • Charles David Conley, 55, of Lincolnton
  • Christopher Lance Craig, 29, of Claremont
  • Kerston Deshawn Edwards, 23, of Lincolnton
  • Bradley Lee Farmer, 27, of Gastonia
  • Crystal Michelle Fisher, 26, of Lincolnton
  • Brittany C. Orgeron, 21, of Lincolnton
  • Ferlin Todd Pridmore, 40, of Lincolnton
  • John Russell Sanders, 36, of Gastonia
  • Gregory Allen Smith, 52, of Lincolnton
  • Kirk DeLa Torre, 34, of Iron Station
  • Cynthia Diane Payne, 46, of Concord
  • Jamie Dean Abernethy, 49, of Stanley

Anyone with information on the individuals’ whereabouts is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 732-9050, the Drug Tip Line at (704) 736-8606 or Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909. Callers may remain anonymous, and any tip leading to an arrest may result in a reward of up to $1,000.
