Car fatally strikes pedestrian
A vehicle struck and killed a 48-year-old man at a Lincolnton intersection over the weekend, according to officials with Emergency Medical Services.
The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. Sunday at the corner of S. Generals Boulevard and S. Laurel Street, Public Information Officer Kim Green told the Times-News.
EMS crews located the victim lying in the roadway with significant injuries. While the man initially maintained a heartbeat and blood pressure, he quickly went into cardiac arrest and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln with life-threatening conditions, Green said. The man later died from his injuries.
EMS officials could not give out the victim’s name or address due to HIPPA laws, and police were not available at time of publication.
