An eastern Lincoln County sex offender failed to register his correct address with the Sheriff’s Office, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies said Raimund Karl Grimm Jr., 38, of 7782 Burbank Lane in Denver, falsely told them he lived at his father’s residence.
Last month, when deputies tried to serve Grimm a warrant at his residence for failure to appear, they learned the suspect had not lived at the home since late September, the report said.
Deputies charged Grimm on Tuesday with one count of failure to notify a change of address by a sex offender and placed him under a $30,395 secured bond, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Grimm served a 16-month prison sentence in 2008 after a Lincoln County judge found him guilty of the same charge, according to the North Carolina Department of Correction website.
He committed sex-related acts with an 18-year-old victim in an out-of-state location in 1999, N.C. Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Registry showed.
Grimm was 25 at the time. He endured one year of confinement and three years of probation for the crime, according to the site. Further details of the incident were not available at time of publication.
Grimm remains in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center.
