Ralph C. Parker, 87, of 2063 North Brook #3 School Road, Vale, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton.
Born April 25, 1925 in Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Otis Parker and Minnie Lindsay Parker. He was retired from Southern Desk and was also a farmer. Mr. Parker was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Earlene Houser Parker; two sons, Ralph Parker Jr. and Tom Parker; daughter, Juanita Parker; four brothers, Cecil, Cletus, Leroy and Howard Parker and a sister, Melissa Craig.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Parker and wife, Barbara and James Parker all of Vale; a daughter, Muriel Speagle and husband, Bill of Vale; daughter-in-law, Linda Parker of Hickory; brother, Ken Parker of Vale; two sisters, Grace Cline of Claremont and Mary Jane Edwards of Burnsville; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Vale with Rev. Jeremy Mahaffey and Rev. Don Willis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, Vale

Ray Lee Summey
Mr. Ray Lee Summey, age 59, of 373 Turner Street in Lincolnton, died on Sunday, November 4, 2012.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. this evening at Warlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Summey was born November 28, 1952 in Lincoln County to the late Arthur and Peggy Davis Summey.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Sue Manley Summey of the home; two sons, John Summey of Gastonia and Ray L. Summey Jr. of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Mary Summey of Seneca, S.C. and Lisa S. Myers of Lincolnton; one step-son, William Shane Roberts of Gastonia; one step-daughter, Mary Alice Sharpe of Gastonia; four grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Rachel Justice Reynolds
KINGS MOUNTAIN — Rachel Justice Reynolds, age 83, resident of 111 Rye Court, Kings Mountain died November 4, 2012 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain. She was born in Cleveland Co., to the late Loye F. Justice and Rosie Lee McEntire Justice. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Phillip “JP” Reynolds. She was a member of RiverView Baptist Church, Lincolnton and attended Oak Grove Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. Mrs. Reynolds loved her God and going to church. She was a friend to many and never met a stranger.
Survivors include son, Danny M. Reynolds and wife Mary, Charlotte; brother, Max Justice and wife Jan, Kings Mountain; sister, Ann Justice Dyer, Shelby, sister-in-law, Mozelle Justice, Kings Mountain; three grandchildren, Leslie Reynolds, Timothy John Reynolds, and David M. Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 3 p.m. with Rev. Mike VanDyke, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain and other times at the home of the sister-in-law Mozelle Justice, 111 Rye Court, Kings Mountain, NC.
