Stacy Darriell Keever
Stacy Darriell Keever, 72, of Lincolnton, received his crown in Glory on October 30, 2012, after a long struggle with illness. He was surrounded by dear family and friends, who rejoice that he has been made whole and welcomed into the arms of his loving Savior, Jesus! This precious one known as Daddy and Papoo, is able to stand tall once again.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
Darriell was born on July 9, 1940, and would be the last living child of the late Roy and Louella Keever. On November 24, 1962, he married his one and only love of a lifetime and best friend, Frances “Fran” Keever. What beautiful memories they made throughout their 50 years of marriage, which they recently celebrated. Their greatest joys include their two daughters; Dawn and Brian Moody and Stacie and Shannon Williams; grandsons, Korbyn, Reece, and Rylan Moody.
His family would like to thank the members of their church, Lincoln Avenue Baptist, Pastor Ken Jones, supportive family, friends, neighbors, caregivers, and Hospice, who together with their faith in Jesus Christ, have made this journey possible. To God be the Glory!

Marvin “Alvin” Sigmon, age 85, of Maiden passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center of Charlotte.
Born June 13, 1927 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Alonzo Sigmon and the late Artie Culberson Sigmon. Mr. Sigmon was a faithful member of Gainsville Baptist Church in Lincolnton and was a World War II, US Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Ruth Sigmon, brother, Sid Sigmon and sister, Marilyn Sigmon preceded him in death.
Survivors include daughter, Becky Sigmon Jonas of Vale; two granddaughters, Jada Jonas of Vale, Jana White and husband, Rev. Dr. Michael White of Lincolnton, one brother, Kenneth Sigmon and wife, Wanda of Alexis; one sister, Gwen Keziah of Gastonia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Gainsville Baptist Church in Lincolnton with Rev. Dr. Malcolm Ivey and Rev. Michael Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family received friends, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Gainsville Baptist Church in Lincolnton.

Rhonda Grace Shumake, 54, of Lincolnton, died Sunday, October 28, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 1, at the Cavin-Cook Chapel. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
