An East Lincoln man faces accusations of distributing child pornography following a joint federal and local investigation.

An undercover agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted Sheriff’s detectives in doing a “preliminary forensics examination” Thursday at an eastern Lincoln County man’s residence, locating child pornography on the suspect’s computers, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies searched the home of Sebastian Alexander Morris and found images and videos of children on three laptops, a ThinkPad and I-phone, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.

The FBI’s Cyber Task Force in Charlotte notified Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives Oct. 3 of the distribution of child pornography on the county’s eastern end.

Warrants indicate Morris, 26, of 7176 Quail Hunt Drive in Stanley, victimized “an unknown minor,” the Sheriff’s Office said.

He faces four felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor/distributing material and has since posted a $40,000 secured bond.

Morris had a first appearance on Friday and is set to again appear in district court on Oct. 25, the Clerk of Court’s Office said.

More charges may be filed in the case as the investigation continues.
