Lail Electric receives award for renovations
Lail Electric received the City of Lincolnton Polished Apple Award for the renovation of its building, located at 1420 E. Main St., last week. Mayor John Gilleland presented the award to Audie, Monte and Steve Lail.
The Polished Apple Award is a citywide recognition program established to encourage positive community-design improvements in Lincolnton. An initiative of the Business and Community Development Department, the award’s recipients are selected by a volunteer citizen group and are determined based on the established program criteria.
“The award recognizes business and property owners that exemplify community pride by exceptional upkeep and improvements to their properties,” said Business and Community Development Director Brad Guth in a press release regarding the award. “We want folks to take pride in the appearance of our community and give recognition to those that make exemplary efforts to do so.”
The review committee meets on a regular basis to review applications and nominations. A property owner may apply, or a noteworthy improvement project may be nominated to receive the award.
