Gaston College police arrested a Lincolnton man Wednesday night for having weapons on the Lincoln County campus, school officials said.

Officers charged Donald Andrew Peach, 26, of 3273 Brent Trail, with one count of weapons on campus or other educational property, according to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

Police spotted the weapons in his vehicle around 8 p.m., according to Stephanie Michael-Picket, Gaston College’s director of marketing and public relations.

Information on the type of weapons and why they were in Peach’s vehicle was not available at time of publication.

The incident remains under investigation.

Peach has since posted a $5,000 bond.

According to campus crime statistics, there has only been one incident report of an aggravated assault and three drug-related, on-campus arrests from 2009 to 2011.
