Deputies discovered marijuana inside a suspicious-looking vehicle Wednesday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of two Lincolnton men, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said.
Forest Jay Cogdill, 20, of 2405 Skyview Lane, and Edward Leroy York IV, 20, of 135 S. J. Crawford Road, were both charged with one felony count each of possession with intent to manufacture a schedule VI controlled substance, according to a report.
Deputies responded to an area along N.C. 150 where the Sheriff’s Office said a suspicious-looking 2000 Plymouth Neon with two men inside was parked in front of a convenience store.
Cogdill and York exited the vehicle, and deputies patted them down, locating a plastic bag of marijuana in one of the suspect’s pockets, a report said.
The man told deputies there was also a bag of marijuana under the passenger seat, according to officers. Deputies said they additionally seized some cash along with the vehicle.
Both men remain in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center, each under a $10,000 secured bond.
