Coat drive
Without Walls Deliverance Center in Lincolnton is collecting new and slightly-used coats now through Oct. 10 for needy residents in the community for the winter season. Coats will be distributed October through December. For more information, call Lee Harbison or Vee Jones at (704) 240-4411.

Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will hold a blood drive 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gaston College Lincoln Campus, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. Each donor will receive a free T-shirt.

School of the Arts
Suzuki School of the Arts in Hickory will host their second annual Fall Kickoff at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Hickory 5:30 p.m. with a hot dog supper and other activities. School enrollment is currently open with private lessons starting the week of Sept. 10. Lessons will be at St. Luke’s UMC and First UMC in Lincolnton.

Apple Festival race
Early registration is due for a discounted price to run in the 26th Annual Lincolnton Rotary Club Apple Festival Road Race. Register online at racingtoes.com or call Jody Rhyne at (704) 472-7263.
The race will be 8 a.m. Sept. 15 in downtown Lincolnton prior to the Apple Festival.

BBQ lunch
Pisgah United Methodist Church, 2582 Gastonia Hwy. in Lincolnton, will hold the annual Perkins-Huffman Memorial BBQ 11 a.m.

Single adults event

Lemonade sale
Hampton’s Store, 2545 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a lemonade sale in memory of local resident Charlie Tipton 10 a.m. to noon. Proceeds will benefit
Danita’s Children and Lambs of God Orphanages in Haiti.

Yard sale
The ODD Fellows fall fundraiser will host a yard sale 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at their lodge, 1990 Buffalo Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton, with hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, desserts and more. Rain date will be Sept. 15. For more information, call (704) 735-4314.

Breakfast & yard sale

Without Walls Freedom Center, 118 Colonial Village Dr. in Lincolnton, will open their Two Fish & Five Loaves Food Pantry 9-11 a.m.

Family reunion
A family reunion for the descendants of Jackson Silvanus & Mary Elizabeth Heavner Scronce will be noon followed by 1 p.m. lunch at Daniels Lutheran Church’s Fellowship Hall, 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton. Bike ride fundraiser
