Camp meeting
The 2012 Tucker’s Grove Camp Meeting will be today through Sunday at Lincoln County’s Tucker Grove Campground. For more information on specific activities and times, call Lewis Mclean at (704) 913-6450.

Education meeting

Spark in the Park
Salem United Methodist Church will host “Spark in the Park” 5-7 p.m. Friday at Beatty’s Ford Park in Denver. Chef Troy Gagliardo of FOX News Rising will be on-hand. Singing Convention
The Lincoln County Singing Convention will meet 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church, 6670 W. N.C. 27 in Vale. For more information, call (704) 276-1529.

Senior Night
The Gaston County Senior Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas, will host an Open Mic Night for seniors 6 p.m. Friday. Country breakfast
Daniels Lutheran Church, 3170 Reepsville Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a country breakfast 7-10 a.m. Saturday. The church will also hold a “Blessing of Book Bags” 11 a.m. Sunday. Pancake breakfast
Without Walls Freedom Center in Lincolnton will sponsor a pancake breakfast 8-10:30 a.m. Saturday at Fatz Cafe on Main St. in Lincolnton. Proceeds will go to fund Pastor Bynum’s education trip to Israel. To purchase advanced tickets or for more information, call (704) 240-4411.

Bishop visit
ELCA’s presiding Bishop Mark Hanson will visit Trinity Lutheran Church in Vale on Saturday and Sunday. Hanson visits three to four congregations per year. For more information, call (704) 276-1257.

Love Denver
Denver area churches will unite 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Wal-Mart on N.C. 73 in Denver to give needy area children hair cuts and back packs filled with school supplies. C.A.R.E. Carnival
Kingdom Ministries and Hull’s Grove Baptist Church will host C.A.R.E. Carnival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 270 Car Farm Rd. in Lincolnton. Activities will include games, basketball, karate and dance exhibitions along with free food and other events. For more information, call (704) 640-6675.

Zipper’s benefit
A benefit for local injured firefighter Adam Dancoff will be 2-7 p.m. Saturday at Zipper’s Restaurant in Lincolnton. Ten percent of all purchases will be donated to the family. Activities at the site will include cornhole, fire truck rides, a dunking booth, drawings and more.

BBQ sale
Poplar Springs A.M.E. Zion Church, 1205 Buffalo Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a BBQ sale (dine in or take out) 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Kiser Reunion
The annual Jonas S. and Minnie Mauney Kiser Reunion will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Ivey Memorial Methodist Church in Lincolnton. Dinner will be 5 p.m. with business meeting following the meal.

Military ceremony
The Southern Stars Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy will host a Bestowal of World War II Military Cross ceremony at noon Saturday in the Confederate Memorial Hall in downtown Lincolnton.

Cruisin 4 a Cause
“Cruisin 4 a Cause” will take place 6-10 p.m. Saturday in downtown Lincolnton. The community is invited to showcase both new and classic cars, trucks and motorcycles. Proceeds will benefit Coalition Against Child Abuse, Amy’s House, Hesed House of Hope and Relay for Life.

Antioch United Methodist Church, N.C. 150 in Crouse, will hold their annual homecoming 11 a.m. Sunday with guest speaker Gary Mauney. A covered dish meal will follow the service in the church arbor. A business session will be 2 p.m. Donations may be made for the Building and Cemetary Fund by mailing funds to Antioch UMC Fund, P.O. Box 4, Crouse, N.C., 28033.
