Police: Autopsy in death investigation suggests natural causes

Times-News Staff

Police said Tuesday afternoon they have ruled out homicide in the case of a 39-year-old woman whose body was found late Monday in her Lincolnton apartment.

Police and the State Bureau of Investigation began an investigation, but officers told the Times-News on Tuesday that the preliminary conclusion from an autopsy conducted in Winston-Salem was that she probably died from natural causes.

Chief Rodney Jordan told the Times-News that they didn’t see anything at the scene to indicate a violent murder but initially treated the investigation as a possible homicide, in case something had come back from autospy reports confirming that.
