Police placed a Lincolnton man, accused of using a handgun to threaten a man at a city hotel this past spring, behind bars Thursday.
Warren Lamont Stowe, 19, of 413 Jennings Street, was jailed for one felony count of robbery with a dangerous weapon for flashing a gun at a man at the Days Inn in Lincolnton the end of May, a report said.
Stowe along with another man approached the victim near a vending machine inside the hotel and demanded money from the individual, police said. The suspects fled the property with more than $60 in cash after officers said Stowe showed the victim a gun inside his waistband.
Detectives have yet to identify the second person involved in the hold-up, who they described as a black male. Police are asking the public to contact Crime Stoppers at (704) 746-8909 with any information they may have in the incident.
Stowe, a felony drug offender in the county, according to the North Carolina Department of Correction website, remains in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
