East Lincoln Annual Golf Tournament
The East Lincoln High School Sports Boosters will hold their annual golf tournament on September 15, with proceeds to benefit East Lincoln High School’s athletic programs and facilities.
The year’s tournament will be held at Cowan’s Ford Golf Club in Denver with a 1 p.m. shotgun start.  Format for the event will be a four-person captain’s choice.
Cost is $60 per person which includes green fee, cart fee, lunch, drinks on the course and prizes. Hole sponsorships are available for both businesses and individuals for $100.  A foursome will cost $240 while a foursome plus hole sponsorship is available for $310.  Entry forms are available at East Lincoln High School, Cowan’s Ford Golf Club or from tournament director Mike Smith at 704-641-2605.

West Lincoln tickets
Tickets for West Lincoln’s varsity football game today against Chase at West Lincoln High School will only be sold at the gate.

West Lincoln Middle School football
Football practice begins at West Lincoln Middle School August 20 from 3-5 p.m.

Soccer signups
Alexis Baptist Church will have soccer sign ups August 13-25 during office hours.  Registration is $35, and is for kids between the ages of 4-12. Games will be held Saturday mornings from September 15 through October 27. For more information call the church office at (704-263-2301) or Billy Howell (980-241-8014).

Parks & Rec soccer and flag football signups
The City of Lincolnton Parks and Recreation is accepting soccer and flag football registrations for its fall leagues. Registration for both sports will be held at the Lincolnton Recreation Pool at Betty G. Ross Park on August  18 and 25 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and August 19 and 26 from 1–5 p.m. Flag football registration will also be held September 1 and 3 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The leagues are for boys and girls ages 4- 14. Registration for both leagues is $30 per child (city residents) or $45 per child (non-city residents), and will be accepted through 5 p.m. August 28 for soccer and 5 p.m. September 7 for football. Players can also register Monday–Friday between 8 a.m.–5 p.m. at Betty G. Ross Park.
The Recreation department is also seeking persons interested in being volunteer coaches for the youth soccer and flag football leagues.  Persons interested in coaching may contact the department to receive a volunteer coach’s application and to learn more about the position.
