Camp meeting
The 2012 Tucker’s Grove Camp Meeting will start 6:30 p.m. Friday and continue daily through Aug. 26 at Lincoln County’s Tucker Grove Campground. For more information, call Lewis Mclean at (704) 913-6450.

Poetry Lincolnton
The Lincoln Cultural Center, 403 E. Main St. in Lincolnton, will host Poetry Lincolnton 7 p.m. today. Open mic will follow the show so bring your poems and friends.

Car wash
The band will host a yard sale/car wash 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Hardees parking lot on N.C. 150 in Denver.

Food pantry
Without Walls Freedom Center, 118 Colonial Village Dr. in Lincolnton, will sponsor their Two Fish & Five Loaves Food Pantry 9-11 a.m. Saturday. Applicants must bring identification and one bill in their name. For more information, call (704) 240-4411.

Church meal

UMAR anniversary

Meet and greet

Tractor/Truck Pull
North Brook Antique Tractor Club will host an Antique Tractor, Lawn Mower & Truck Pull starting 3 p.m. Saturday on N.C. 10 near Honey’s Supermarket. Concessions and giveaways will be available. Children 12 & under are free.

Martin reunion

Senior dance

Library event
The Lincoln County Public Library will sponsor story telling, singing and family entertainment 6:30 p.m. Monday at 306 W. Main St. in Lincolnton. State Rep. Jason Saine will share children’s book Race on the River, and  Barrie Howard, known for his Mark Twain, Wit, Wisdom, and Wisecracks program, will perform special music. Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host two Lincolnton blood drives: 2-6:30 p.m. Monday at Walgreens, 1230 E. Main St., and 2:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at Abernethy Chevrolet, 1445 E. Main St.

South Fork VFD
South Fork Volunteer Fire Deptartment will have its annual meeting 7 p.m. Monday at the station, 2736 Long Shoals Rd. in Lincolnton.

Lions Club
Vice District Governor II Dave Titus, District 31-A Humanitarian/White Cane Chairperson, will speak at the Lincolnton Lions Club meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at CMC-Lincoln’s Medical Plaza’s Elm Classroom, 441 McAllister Rd. in Lincolnton. Dinner will be 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. A board meeting will follow the regular meeting.

School supplies
The Pumpkin Center VFD, 2911 Lee Lawing Rd. in Lincolnton, will collect back-to-school supplies now through Tuesday for those in need. Donations may include paper, pencils, markers, notebooks, crayons, glue sticks copy paper and more.

Free hair care
The Cosmetic Art and Sciences Club at Gaston College’s Lincoln Campus will offer free (ages 5-12) or discounted full-service hair care (ages 13-17) for children receiving services from Christian Ministry 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at 511 S.
