Carolyn Kay Beal Peeler
MAIDEN — Carolyn Kay Beal Peeler, age 69, of Maiden passed away Sunday, August 12, 2012 at NC Baptist Hospital.  She was born October 16, 1942 in Catawba County to the late Claude Gordon Beal and Lucy Jane Williams Beal.
She was a member of Lawings Chapel Baptist Church. She was a nurse with a huge, compassionate heart.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Lee “Bud” Peeler; two brothers, Harold Beal and Marshall Beal; and one sister, Flona Shaw.
She is survived by two sons, Millard Scott Peeler and his wife Wendy of Maiden and Steven Barrett “Barry” Peeler and his wife Kelly of Laurinburg; one daughter, Julia Peeler Davis and her husband Alan, Taylorsville; one brother, Clifton “Pete” Beal of Maiden; two sisters, Margie Self of Lincolnton and Colleen Shytle of Denver; niece, Harolene Walker who she considered as a sister; and nine grandchildren, Brandon Peeler, Jesse Peeler, Adrian Davis, Brittney Davis, Kristian Peeler, Kaitlyn Peeler, Tyler Hester, Cody Hester, and Kaylen Hester.
Services will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church. The interment will be in the church cemetery. Rev. Stephen Rector and Kenneth Little will officiate.

Emogene Sain B. Schrum
Emogene Sain B. Schrum, age 86 of Lincolnton died Monday, August 13, 2012.
Her funeral will be 3 p.m. today at Boger City Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Lincolnton. The family will receive friends from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. today, at the church prior to the service.
Mrs. Schrum was born on November 30, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Austin and Mary Clark Sain. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Schrum; brother, Bill Sain; grandson, Shannon Peeler and a sister-in-law, Teeny Sain. Mrs. Schrum was a retired textile inspector.
She is survived by her son, Randy Beal and wife, Becky of Lincolnton; daughter, Sherry Summers and husband, Bill of Lincolnton; three brothers, Ken Sain of Lincolnton, Gerald Sain and wife, Maxine of Lincolnton and Ted Sain and wife, Lois of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Amie Norcutt, Dan Beal and wife, Emily, and Jeremy Peeler and wife, Sherry; six great-grandchildren, Hannah Norcutt, Emily Norcutt, Dalton Beal, Christopher Archie, Meredith Peeler and Justin Peeler; one great-great-grandchild, Avery Grace Norcutt.

Earl Canipe, 63, of Conover died August 13, 2012.
A funeral service will be held on August 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel, Newton. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawndale.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Burke Mortuary, Newton.

Betty Sue Workman Mathis, 83, of Newton died August 13, 2012.
A funeral service will be held August 16, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel, Newton. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park, Hickory. The family will receive friends August 16, 2012 from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.

Eric “Shane” Uzzell, 39, of Maiden died August 11, 2012.
A Memorial Service will be held August 16, 2012 at 3 p.m. at Burke Mortuary Chapel, Maiden. The family will receive friends following the service.
