Police are on the lookout for two men who robbed the Domino’s Pizza in Lincolnton at gunpoint Sunday, injuring a store employee, sending him to the hospital over the weekend, investigators said.
The incident is the third armed robbery at a city pizza eatery this summer, though police said they don’t believe this one is necessarily related to the two previous ones at Little Caesar’s.
Police described the culprits in Sunday’s hold-up as two black men who covered their faces. They used a handgun to threaten a store employee while he was taking out trash sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. behind the business, according to Lt. Brian Greene.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident and have more than one lead at this time, Greene said.
The Domino’s employee was taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln for treatment for his injuries.
Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at (704) 736-8909 or the Lincolnton Police Department at (704) 736-8900.
Tips may remain anonymous, and any tip leading to an arrest may receive a reward of up to $1,000.
