Yard sale
Hinton Memorial United Methodist Church, 830 Car Farm Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a yard sale 6 a.m. Saturday followed by a hot dog and fish sale 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rain date will be Aug. 18.

Yard sale

A benefit for local teen and water skier Eli Hager’s trip to California will be 8 a.m. Saturday at White Oak Par 3 Golf Course, Mt. Zion Ch. Rd. in Alexis.

Food pantry

Fried Apple Pie sales start Monday
The Lincoln County Extension and Community Association will be selling fried apple pies Monday through Friday at the Demonstration Kitchen in the Citizens Center in Lincolnton. Patrons may begin ordering pies at 9 a.m. Monday for $2 each. Walk-ins will be welcome starting at 1 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. each day for the rest of the week. Walk-ins will be limited to fives pies or less. For large orders, please call 704-736-8464 beginning 9 a.m. Monday. Proceeds go to support the LCECA’s efforts in the community, which include supporting local 4-H clubs, helping the Lincoln County Coalition Against Child Abuse and Red Cross Blood Mobile and awarding four scholarships for area high school students.

Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host a blood drive 2-6:30 p.m. Monday at the Wal-Mart Supercenter on N.C. 73 in Denver.
