Filing for the Lincoln County Soil and Water Conservation Board ended Friday at noon, with only one candidate having filed for a seat.
Pamela M. Stroupe of Lincolnton, an incumbent on the board, filed for another term as one of three elected members. Hers is the only term expiring this year. The filing period began June 11.
Also on the board are Leonard Keever of Lincolnton and Terry Turbyfill of southeastern Lincoln County, both of whom have seats that will be up for election in 2014. Appointed members to the board include Chairman Tommy Houser of Vale and Roy Hoyle of Lincolnton.
With the filing periods now closed for the Soil and Water Board and the Lincoln County Board of Education, ballots for both should be set for November’s general election.
