Gary Dean Campbell
Gary Dean Campbell, age 74 of Lincolnton passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at Catawba Valley Medical Center in Hickory. He was born January 23, 1938 in Catawba County to the late Johnny James Campbell and Nannie Moore Campbell.
He is survived by two sons, Michael Campbell and his wife Shay and Kelly Campbell and his wife Donna, both of Denver; one brother, Ronald Campbell of Maiden and five grandchildren, Carly Blevins, Clint Campbell, Cole Campbell, Kate Campbell, and Caroline Campbell.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Goodin-Drum Funeral Home in Maiden.
Memorials may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s choice.

Elizabeth Ann Carpenter Eaker
CHERRYVILLE — Elizabeth Ann Carpenter Eaker, 77, of 3679 Eaker Rd., died July 3, 2012 at Hospice at Wendover. She was born on July 1, 1935 in Cleveland Co. a daughter of the late John and Claudia Williams Carpenter.
Mrs. Eaker was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, retired supervisor from Goodwill Industries in Cherryville and formerly employed by Rite Aid and Churchhill Apts.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years Max Dean Eaker Sr.; daughter, Susan Daniels and husband Dave of Matthews; five sons, Max Eaker Jr. of Lawndale, Michael Eaker and wife Linda, Gary Eaker, Tim Eaker, and Roger Eaker all of Cherryville; brother, Ben Carpenter; step grandchild, Dana Roark of Mt. City, Tenn.; four great grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held today at Carpenter’s Funeral Home at 4 p.m. with Rev. Roy Byers officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after the services and at other times at the home.

Neil Thomas Pellum
Mr. Neil Thomas Pellum, age 25, of 390 Lantern Ridge Dr. in Lincolnton died Monday, July 4, 2012.
Neil was born April 7, 1987 in Athens, Ga. He graduated from West Lincoln High School where he was a member of the wrestling team. He worked in construction and flooring.
His funeral service will be 6 p.m. today in the Warlick Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m. until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday July 7, 2012 at Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens, Georgia.
Survivors include his father, Thomas Pellum and wife Caren of Lincolnton; mother, Kim Lee Tyrelle and husband Jim of Athens, Ga.; sister, Tracy Lee Hodges of Nicholson, Ga.; and grandfather, Dan Blackwell Sr. of Bluffton, S.C.
The family requests no flowers be sent and memorials be made to the West Lincoln High School Athletic Department in care of the Wrestling Department, 172 Shoal Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Michael S. Sestric
September 29, 1919 – July 3, 2012
Michael died of heart failure on the morning of July 3, 2012 in Portland, Ore. His passing was quick and without fanfare, as he would have wished. Michael served in WW II and, after a short time in civilian life, was recalled to active duty in 1948 where he served in the US Army until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel 1966. From 1967 until 1981, he worked as a Vice-President with SunTrust Bank, supervising the operations of three branch banks.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. and late of Lincolnton, Michael relocated to Portland, Ore. in 2008 following the death of Thelma, his wife of 60 years. He is survived by his son, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, several siblings and numerous nephews and nieces in Pittsburgh, Pa., Atlanta, Ga. and N.C. There will be a brief graveside ceremony and interment on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, Freedom Drive, Charlotte, North Carolina. There will also be a Celebration of Life ceremony at the Courtyard Plaza, Mt Hood Lobby, in Portland on Sunday July 15 at 3 p.m.

Diego Antonio Perez Ruiz
Diego Antonio Perez Ruiz, infant son of Juan Perez and Alfa Ruiz Lozano, of Lincolnton died July 2, 2012.
A Mass will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church, Lincolnton. Burial will follow at Westview Garden’s Bessemer City.
