Yard sale
A community yard sale and celebration of The Thrift Shop’s one-year anniversary will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 2457 Industrial Park Rd. in Lincolnton. Yard sale spaces are available in 10 or 20 ft.- sections. Call (704) 822-8808 for more information.

VBS
Salem Baptist Church, 1982 Salem Church Rd. in Lincolnton, will host “Amazing Wonders Aviation” vacation Bible school (ages 2 and up) 5:30-8 p.m. nightly Sunday through July 13.

Blood drives
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will host two area blood drives Monday including one at 4-6 p.m. at Boger City Baptist Church on Main Street in Lincolnton and 2:30-7 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Iron Station.

College enrollment
Gaston College is currently accepting applications for the fall semester. Fall advising will start Monday. First day of classes will be Aug. 20. Students are encouraged to enroll as soon as possible as classes fill up quickly. Anyone interested in attending is asked to visit the Lincoln Campus, 511 S. Scholarship pageant
The deadline to apply for the Miss Gastonia Scholarship Pageant is 5 p.m. Monday. Women ages 17-24 are eligible. The pageant will be July 22 at Gaston College. For more information, call Delores Cox at (704) 827-7277.

The City of Cherryville will have a council meeting Monday in the City Hall conference room.

Living will workshop

Town hall meeting
N.C. Sen. Chris Carney & Rep. Jason Saine will be on-hand at a special town hall meeting 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the Lincoln County Senior Center, 511 S. Aspen St. in Lincolnton. Canning class

Siren test
McGuire Nuclear Station in Huntersville, near the Lincoln/Mecklenburg County line, will test their sirens 11:50 a.m. Wednesday. No public action is required during the three-minute test.

Oak Grove meeting
The Oak Grove Community Group will meet 7 p.m. July 26 to vote on whether or not to dissolve.

Adoption fair

Lincoln County Public Library will host “Own the Night” 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the James W.
