Remembering a friend
Looking at Lincoln County’s memorial to those who died in the Vietnam War, Dr. Brian R. Day of Victoria, Australia, points out the name of Paul H. Lawing Jr., who was killed in action on June 14, 1972, in the Phuoe Tuy Province in Vietnam, while acting as a patrol commander of a Cambodian Platoon. Day served with the Australian Army attached to the 5th group Special Forces of the U.S. Army and became close friends with Lawing. He visited the area this week to reconnect with members of the Lawing Family.
