A Maiden woman is accused of kidnapping and using a child to help her break into a local residence late last month, deputies have said.

Danielle Hoyle Kennedy, 29, of 4549 Graybirch Drive, gained access into a home on the 3900 block of Benny Shrum Lane on the northeastern end of the city on June 22, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said Kennedy also took an 8-year-old child to residence without parental knowledge and forced the juvenile to climb through a bathroom window and open the home’s back door.

Kennedy is accused of using a ladder to reach the window before breaking it.

While inside the residence, the woman took $3,000 worth of jewelry and change from the bathroom before fleeing the property, deputies said.

She’s been charged with one count felony count each of breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and second-degree kidnapping.  She was additionally served warrants for cyberstalking and harassing phone calls, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Kennedy remains in jail under a $20,500 secured bond and is set to make her next court appearance on July 18.
