Police are on the hunt for a masked thief who used a gun to rob an employee Monday morning in the parking lot of a city business.
The robber, who was wearing a ski mask at the time of incident, is accused of robbing a female employee of Little Caesars Pizza on East Main Street in Lincolnton, Det. Sgt. Jason Munday said. The incident occurred just before 10 a.m. Monday in the store parking lot while the woman was at her car.
The suspect threatened her with what appeared to be a handgun, she told detectives.
An undisclosed amount of money was stolen in the incident, police said.
Local officers called in Gaston County police to assist in a search of the masked robber, using a K-9 unit to track the suspect.
According to Lincolnton Police Chief Rodney Jordan, the initial search proved unsuccessful.
