Henry Gene Williams, 69, of Savannah, Ga., son of the late Woodrow and Irene Williams, died at Hospice of Savannah, Ga. on June 1, 2012, after a long illness.
He graduated from Savannah High in 1960, and served in the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines from 1960-1964. He was an avid sports fan, having played football and baseball semi-professionally from 1965-1970. His work career began in computers and computer programming, during the early days of that industry, and it remained a life-long interest. Throughout his life his primary occupation was in sales and finance management.
Williams is survived by his wife of 15 years, Stephanie Wing Williams; daughter Carole Williams and daughter-in-law Evie Williams, of Snellville, Ga.; daughter Robin Williams Harper and son-in-law James Harper of Durham; son Patrick Williams and daughter-in-law Kristy Houser Williams of Lincolnton; son Jason Williams and daughter-in-law Dana Hogan Williams of Cary; and former wife Margaret Zealy of Durham. He is also survived by his brothers, Joe Edward Williams of Eden, Ga., and John Wayne Williams of Charlotte; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
