Church conference
Millennium Reign Conference will be 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Without Walls Freedom Center in Lincolnton and at Family Healing Ministries in Lancaster, S.C., 6 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.

Church breakfast

Fire Dept. Fundraiser
A hamburger and hot dog fundraiser will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Pumpkin Center Volunteer Fire Dept., 2911 Lee Lawing Road in Lincolnton.

Hospice race
Hospice & Palliative Care Lincoln County will host Run the Rail 5K Run/Walk Saturday at Betty G. Ross Park, 800 S. Madison St. in Lincolnton. Church musical
The Adult Choir at Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 E. Main St. in Lincolnton, will perform the patriotic musical “Homeland” 7 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Transit of Venus
Local dentist Robert T. Cloninger has invited the public to view the transit of Venus, a rare astronomical phenomena, starting 5 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of his business at 910 Donita Dr. in Lincolnton. The transit will start at 6:09 p.m. Participants are asked to bring a folding chair, and eye protection will be given to the first 100 people.

Last Man’s Club
The Last Man’s Club WWII Veterans of Lincoln County will meet 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ryan’s Steakhouse in Lincolnton.  All WWII veterans and guests are invited to attend.

EL basketball camps
The 17th Annual East Lincoln Basketball Association Camps will be June 11-14 and July 9-12 along with a Back to School Co-Ed Camp Aug. 6-9, all at ELHS. Camp applications can be picked up in the school office or mailed to participants by calling the school at (704) 736-1860 ext. 25603. Experimental training
The Gaston County Community Collaborative will host “Bridges Out of Poverty Experiential Training,” a simulation of the daily struggles those in poverty face, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 15 at the Gaston Citizens Resource Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas. Registration is required by Friday (June 1) and limited to the first 100 participants. Lunch will be provided. Marine Corps pageant
The Capt. Jeb F. Seagle Marine Corps League & Toys for Tots will host Miss Lincoln County Marine Corps League Pageant 6 p.m. Aug. 25. The pageant is open to girls ages 0-35 and boys ages 3-7.
