City of Lincolnton Parks & Recreation will open their pool at Betty G. Ross Park, 800 S. Madison St., the following hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 1-5 p.m. Sunday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday (Memorial Day). The pool will officially open for the summer June 9. The 17th Annual East Lincoln Basketball Association Camps will be June 11-14 and July 9-12 along with a Back to School Co-Ed Camp Aug. 6-9, all at ELHS. The Gaston County Community Collaborative will host “Bridges Out of Poverty Experiential Training,” a simulation of the daily struggles those in poverty face, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 15 at the Gaston Citizens Resource Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas.
