Hot dog benefit
A community mission / hot dog benefit sale will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Pumpkin Center Community Building, 2735 Club House Rd. in Lincolnton. Proceeds will be used to build a new home for a local family.

The 34th Annual Daves Reunion will be 12:30 p.m. Sunday at Denton’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Morganton. Attendants are asked to be a covered dish, drink, and any family tree information or old photos. Door prizes will also be given away.
Memorial Day celebration
VFW Post 1706, 1306 Country Club Road, will host their annual Memorial Day celebration 7:30 p.m. Sunday. A short ceremony will precede the lighting of candles. Guest speaker will be Senior Chief Jeff Pitts, retired U.S. Navy and Naval Junior ROTC Instructor at South Point High School.
Lincoln County-based band Furnace Road will perform 6 p.m. Monday at Main Cellar City Club in Hickory. The band will be opening for Brett Michaels and his solo band.
The Adult Choir at Boger City Baptist Church, 2201 E. Main St. in Lincolnton, will perform the patriotic musical “Homeland” 7 p.m. June 1 and 10:30 a.m. June 3.
City of Lincolnton Parks & Recreation will open their pool at Betty G. Ross Park, 800 S. Madison St., the following hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and June 2; 1-5 p.m. Sunday and June 3; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday (Memorial Day). The pool will officially open for the summer June 9. The 17th Annual East Lincoln Basketball Association Camps will be June 11-14 and July 9-12 along with a Back to School Co-Ed Camp Aug. 6-9, all at ELHS.
