Two Lincoln County men were rushed to area hospitals Saturday after deputies said they both suffered stab wounds in two separate incidents.
According to a Sheriff’s Office press release, 20-year-old Christopher Joseph Kapusta is accused of stabbing 44-year-old Jefferson Shane Bryant multiple times in his side and back around 7:25 p.m.
Deputies said both men had been staying at 4454 Hunter Rhyne Road in Iron Station and that Bryant had been dating Kapusta’s mother at the time of the incident.
After the two engaged in an altercation at their residence, Kapusta walked to a neighboring home. A short time later, Bryant showed up at the residence to confront Kapusta, who proceeded to stab him, the release said.
Deputies called Emergency Medical Services after they spotted Bryant walking along Hunter Rhyne Road with blood all over him.
Kapusta’s currently being held under a $20,000 secured bond for one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
Bryant was taken by helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center-Main in Charlotte but is expected to be OK, deputies said.
Sheriff’s detectives are still on the hunt for someone who stabbed Darry Trevelle Scott, 21, of Highland Drive in Lincolnton.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. at a home on Haynes Road following a fight at a party where underage drinking had been taking place, deputies said.
Multiple people were injured in the incident and taken to CMC-Lincoln. Scott was later airlifted to CMC-Main. There is no word yet on his condition.
Detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation into the Saturday morning stabbing. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 732-9050.
