McDonald’s plans site in Boger City

Another international fast-food chain is currently eyeing a location on East Main Street in Boger City.
Lincolnton Zoning Administrator Mark Carpenter told the Times-News Wednesday that he had spoken with representatives of McDonald’s regarding property located near the intersection of Salem Church Road and Main Street.
However, he said no site plans had been submitted at this time. Additionally, property records show that the land hasn’t been sold since 2007, though it may take a week or so for those records to be updated.
Nonetheless, Carpenter said workers had been to the property to perform some drilling and other site work, perhaps prior to the company purchasing the land.
Most recently, Boger City became home to Massachusetts-based international chain Dunkin’ Donuts, which opened at the former location of Waycaster Tire & Auto at the end of last year.
Should a McDonald’s restaurant eventually be constructed at the site, it will be the second located on East Main Street, with the one closer to central Lincolnton having recently completed renovations.
