Community revival
Stanley Middle School, 317 Hovis Rd. in Stanley, will host a community revival “United One Lord, One Faith, One Mission” 7 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Speakers will include Tom Kinman of Hickory Grove Baptist, Eddie McGinnis of Community Pentecostal, Albert Mills of Mt. Pleasant UMC, Danny Penny of Pentecostal Holiness and Eddie James’ Youth Ministry Team.

Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will hold a blood drive 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at CMC-Lincoln, 433 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton.

Diabetes prevention
CMC-Lincoln will host “Pre-Diabetes: How I can Prevent Diabetes” 3 p.m. Thursday in the Dogwood Room of Lincoln Medical Plaza, 441 McAlister Rd. in Lincolnton. Blood drive
Community Blood Center of the Carolinas will hold a blood drive 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday at Boger City Fire Department, 410 McAlister Rd. in Boger City.

Pathways will hold a Board of Directors meeting 6 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln County Department of Social Services, 1136 E. Main St. in Lincolnton.

Widowed Group
Widowed Group of the Greater Gaston Area will hold a meeting with Gaston County Adult & Aging Services speaker Cathy Goodman 7 p.m. Thursday at the Senior Center, 1303 Dallas-Cherryville Hwy. in Dallas. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. For more information, call (704) 865-5663.

Lincoln Quilters
The Lincoln Quilters will hold their monthly meeting 7 p.m. Thursday at the James Warren Citizens Center in downtown Lincolnton. Special guest Linda Cantrell will present  “Mistakes and How to Overcome Them.”

La Boheme
The Lincoln Cultural Center will host a promotional tour by Opera Experience South East 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Timken Performance Hall. Actors will perform scenes from La Boheme, directed by John Fowler, internationally-acclaimed tenor and professor of music. Tickets are currently available at the Cultural Center Office.

Poetry Lincolnton
Poetry Lincolnton will be held 7 p.m. Friday at the Lincoln Cultural Center. Guest poet will be Helen Losse, who will also be selling and signing her new book “Mansion of Memory.” Proceeds will benefit Joplin Bright Futures to help tornado victims. Open mic will follow.

Church performance
Deadline to purchase tickets for the musical All Hands on Deck is Thursday. The Golden Agers of Lincolnton’s Emmanuel Lutheran Church will travel to Greensboro’s The Barn Theatre to see the production June 14. For more information, call (704) 735-9033.

Yard sale
Boger City United Methodist Men will host a yard sale 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Boger City United Methodist Church, 2320 E. Main St. in Lincolnton. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be for sale 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

5K/Biatholon race
The 2nd Annual Lincolnton 5k (Walk/Run) Biathlon & Kids Biathlon will be 8 a.m. Saturday at Lincolnton Middle School. For more information, visit racingtoes.com.

Ramsour’s Mill
Battle of Ramsour’s Mill 2012 will include activites from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to after 3 p.m. Sunday at Lincolnton High School. Tent sale

BBQ fundraiser
Gainsville Baptist Church, 276 Gainsville Church Rd. in Lincolnton, will host a BBQ fundraiser 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. New Journey in Morganton will provide entertainment.

Rabies clinic
Lincoln County Animal Services will hold a drive-thru rabies clinic 12-4 p.m. Saturday in the East Lincoln High School parking lot. Cost is $7. For more information, call Animal services at (704) 736-4125.

Armed Forces Day
VFW Post 1706, 1306 Country Club Rd. in Lincolnton, will celebrate Armed Forces Day 1-5 p.m. Saturday by hosting a recruitment/membership drive. The Men’s and Ladies Auxiliary will be represented. Attendants are asked to bring a copy of their DD Form 214 to assist with determining eligibility.  Food and refreshments will be on-hand from Zippers Restaurant and Lounge.

Memorial Day event
Bess Chapel United Methodist Church, 6073 Flay Rd. in Cherryville, will celebrate Memorial Day with Sunday with an old-fashion day featuring old-style clothing and dinner.

Lincolnton Business & Community Development Dept. will host a “Cruise-In” 1-5 p.m. Sunday in downtown Lincolnton.
Show proceeds will benefit a local cancer victim. No cars are allowed before 12:30 p.m.

Photography Club
The Lincoln Photography Club will meet 7 p.m. Monday at the Lincoln Cultural Center. Meeting topic will be favorite places to take photos.

Lifeguard training
City of Lincolnton Parks &  Recreation will host a lifeguard training class Tuesday through June 7 at the W. M. Lentz Recreation Center at Betty G. Ross Park, 800 S. Madison St. in Lincolnton.

Comedy night
East Lincoln Republican Women will host Eric Golub, a politcally conservative Jewish blogger and comedian 7 p.m. Tuesday at East Lincoln Fire Dept., 406 S. Pilot Knob Rd. in Denver.
