Two people were transported to an area hospital after their tractor trailer overturned Saturday morning on U.S. 321 in Lincoln County.
According to Lincolnton Fire Chief Mike Lee, the single-vehicle crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on the southbound lanes near mile marker 21.
Fire officials said the vehicle overcorrected after running off the left side of the road and landed on its side.
One of the occupants walked away from the wreck. Lee said firefighters had to remove a second person from the vehicle through the windshield.
Both individuals were taken to Carolinas Medical Center-Lincoln with non-life-threatening injuries.
Further details on the wreck were not available at time of publication.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol is conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
Fire crews from Lincolnton, South Fork and North 321 responded to scene.
