Deputies: Drug raid seizes pot, cash

Lincoln County Sheriff’s officers say they seized about 2 pounds of marijuana and $700 in cash from a home in north-central Lincoln County.

Sheriff’s narcotics investigators seized more than 700 grams of marijuana from a Lincolnton man’s home late last week.
William Allan Beaver, 24, of 1314 Highland Bluff Court in north-central Lincoln County, was charged Thursday with one felony count each of possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance.
Investigators searched the home around 9:30 p.m. concluding an investigation that commenced the beginning of the year, according to Lt. Jason Reid, head of the Narcotic Division.
A press release said that deputies seized 754 grams, or nearly two pounds, of the illegal substance, which was valued between $1,500 and $2,500.
Deputies additionally said they confiscated $700 in cash.
Beaver has since posted a $5,000 secured bond.
