Ray ‘Neal’ Avery

Mr. Ray “Neal” Avery, age 53, of 950 Arrow Street, Lincolnton died Saturday, May 5, 2012.

His funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Laboratory United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlene Hutchings officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at Warlick Funeral Home in Lincolnton.

Mr. Avery was born on October 7, 1958 and was the son of the late Ray James and Joyce Roach Avery.  He was a chemical mechanical technician with LCI test laboratory center.

Mr. Avery is survived by his wife, Joan J. Avery of the home; one sister, Janet Avery Reep and husband, Bryan of Vale; numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and one great-great niece.

Kieffer Brendel

June 20, 1907 – May 4, 2012

VALE — Mr. Kieffer Brendel, 104, of 6468 W Hwy. 27, Vale passed away Friday, May 4, at Brian Center – Lincolnton.

Born June 20, 1907 in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late Joseph Henry Brendel and Ellen Houser Brendel. Mr. Brendel was a member of Hull’s Grove Baptist Church and a self-employed farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Eddy Brendel.

Mr. Brendel is survived by his wife, Muriel Hull Brendel; daughter, Fonda Kiser and husband Roger of Vale; sister, Edith Waldrop of Valdese; grandchildren, Chelsea Kelly, Stacey Brendel and Cory Brendel; great grandchildren, Holden Kelly and Parker Kelly.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6:15 p.m., Tuesday, at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Marcus Redding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Brandon Heavner

December 12, 1979 – May 2. 2012

VALE — Mr. Brandon Joel Heavner, 32, of 6913 Lackey Road, Vale, passed away Wednesday, May 2, at his home.

Born in Cleveland County on December 12, 1979, Brandon was a residential carpenter.

Brandon is survived by his father, Bobby Joel “Joe” Heavner and wife, Debbie of Vale; mother, Janet Blackwell Elmore of Lakeland, Fla.; son, Caleb Webb of Lincolnton; grandparents, Rachel Heavner of Vale and Peggy Scilluffo of Lakeland, Fla; brother, Brent Heavner of Vale and sister, Candra Heavner of Vale.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., today at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church.

The funeral will be 3:30 p.m., today at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Marcus Redding and Harvey Gates officiating. Burial will follow at Hull’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hull’s Grove Baptist Church, 6670 W Highway 27, Vale, NC 28168.

At other times the family will be at the home of Rachel Heavner, 6913 Lackey Road, Vale, NC 28168.

Robert Lewis Perkins Sr.

IRON STATION — Mr. Robert Lewis Perkins Sr., age 70, of 4134 Red Oak Lane in Iron Station, died on Saturday, May 5, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Mt. Holly Revival Tabernacle with Pastor John Mayberry officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Perkins was born February 25, 1942 in Gaston County to the late Lewis McDonald and Ibera Marshall Perkins. He worked in textiles.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Childers Perkins of the home; four sons, Keith Perkins and Dwight Perkins of Gastonia, Robert Perkins Jr. of the home and Greg Whisnant of Lincolnton; three daughters, Tammy Cash of Ga., Donna Haskin of Gastonia, Crystal Mullis of Kannapolis; two sisters, Rose Riding of Mt. Holly and Alda Wheeler of Union, S.C.; twenty grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

Trava Jewel Hester Bryant

Trava Jewel Hester Bryant, 65, of Maiden, died May 6, 2012.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

Deloris Isenhour

Deloris Isenhour, 80, of Sherrills Ford died May 5, 2012.

A graveside service will be held today at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Lincolnton. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Forest Lawn.

Burke Mortuary, Maiden is serving the Isenhour family.

 

Anna Chambers Mosteller

Anna Chambers Mosteller, 72, of Lincolnton died May 3, 2012.

Her funeral service was held at 3 p.m. May 6, 2012 at Southside Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Warlick Funeral Home served the Mosteller family.

 

Michael ‘Shine’ Ray Shedd

Michael “Shine” Ray Shedd, 55, of Dallas, N.C. died May 2, 2012.

The family received friends from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. May 6, 2012 at Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia. Interment was private.
