Brett Thomas Knierim

Brett Thomas Knierim, age 23, of 7981 Blue Water Court in Denver, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Denver United Methodist Church with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. prior to the service at the church.

Brett was born June 2, 1988 in Turlock, Calif. to David Knierim and Michelle Lytle Knierim. Brett moved to Denver in 2002 where Brett attended Pumpkin Center Middle School. Brett graduated in 2007 from North Lincoln High School, where he ran cross country for two years. Brett was a thrill seeker and loved everything exciting. He raced motocross and worked as part of a pit crew for a Bush North team. He enjoyed making videos of himself and his friends and their “shenanigans”. He was a very hard worker with many plans for the future. Brett loved life and all that knew him loved him.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Lytle. Brett worked as an apprentice for Overcash Electric. Brett lives on through the people who received his life giving organ donations.

He is survived by his mother, Michelle Lytle Knierim of Denver; father, David Knierim of Mooresville; sister, Ashley Knierim of Charlotte; maternal grandmother, Linda Lytle of Turlock, Calif.; paternal grandmother, Rosemary Knierim of Turlock, Calif.; and maternal great-grandmother Beth Weymouth of Turlock, Calif.

Samuel Richard Elliott

Mr. Samuel Richard Elliott, age 79, of 2920 Woodfield Lane in Lincolnton, died on Monday, March 19, 2012.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 2151 Mt. Zion Church Road in Alexis, with Rev. Charles Wilborn officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Elliott was born March 4, 1933 in Walhalla, S.C. to the late John Samuel Guy Elliott and Thode Abbott Elliott. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and then worked as a flight line mechanic for Lockheed Martin for 36 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Jacobs Elliott of the home; a son, John Norman Elliott of Algonquin, Ill.; two daughters, Deborah Elliott Ouzts of Edgefield, S.C. and Lisa Elliott Grose of Greenwood, S.C.; one sister, Martha Elliott Litesey of Cedartown, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Daniel Nicholas Morrison

VALE — Daniel Nicholas Morrison, age 22, of 1871 Swink Trail in Vale, died on Sunday, March 18, 2012.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Covenant Bible Church with Rev. Mike Devine officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Daniel was born November 1, 1989 in Mecklenburg County to Henry Christopher and Mary Childers Morrison. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Martha Morrison; maternal grandparents, Jack and Eileen Childers; and great uncle, William Childers.

Daniel attended Maryvale Daycare, Battleground Elementary, Lincolnton Middle School, and Lincolnton High School.  He was a member of St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church Youth Group and a member of the LHS 2007 NC state football champions. Daniel entered the U.S. Army in 2008 with the 164th Military Police Company. He served in Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.

He is survived by his parents, Chris and Mary Morrison of the home; two brothers, Sean Morrison of Pensacola, Fla. and James Morrison of San Diego, Calif; two sisters, Shannon Morrison and husband C.J. Barnes of Lincolnton and Erin Dudley and husband Rob of Charlotte; niece, Scarlett Morrison; nephews, Lucas and Cooper Barnes; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Daniel was a fun-loving, kind-hearted, and generous man who brought light and laughter to everyone he came in contact with. He was a brave soldier who was revered and admired by his fellow soldiers. He was a wonderful son and brother. We will miss his shining presence. We know you are looking down at all of us from the “Big Dipper.”  We love you.

Clyde Bandy Bost

Mr. Clyde Bandy Bost, age 74, of 2610 Union Church Road in Lincolnton, died on Monday, March 19, 2012.

His funeral service will be 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 in theWarlick Funeral HomeChapel with Pastor Linn Finger officiating. Burial will follow in Hollybrook Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 prior to the service atWarlick Funeral Home.

Mr. Bost was born October 17, 1937 in Catawba County to the late Tate Logan and Wanda Keener Bost. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Alva Bost, Betty Ellen Bost, and Carol Glover, all of Catawba county. Mr. Bost served in the United States Navy and then later retired from AT&T after thirty years of service as a communications technician.

He is survived by his wife, Janette Chapman Bost of the home; two sons, Jeffrey Logan Bost and Bandy Kevin Bost, both of Lincolnton; three brothers, Dewey Bost of Winnsboro, S.C., Jerald Bost of Hickory, and Robert Bost of Maiden; and two sisters, Virginia McIntyre of Charlotte and Josephine Jackson of Gainesville, Ga.

Diane Roberta Bracey, 55, of 1610 Breezy Trail, Lincolnton died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at her residence.

MAIDEN — Edward “Lowell” Beard, age 71, of South 4th Ave., Maiden passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Burke Mortuary in Maiden.

 

 

Harold Ellis

CHERRYVILLE — William Harold Ellis, 66, of Cherryville died March 17, 2012.

Graveside services were held Mar. 20, 2012 at 4 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Park. The family received friends at Carpenter’s Funeral Home, Mar. 20, 2012 from 1p.m. until 3 p.m. and at other times at the home.

Darese Trashawn Wilson

Darese Trashawn Wilson, 26, of Lincolnton died March 19, 2012 at CMC-Lincoln, Lincolnton.

Funeral services are March 24, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the chapel at Ebony & White’s Funeral Service with burial to follow in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes in the chapel prior to the service.
