Shelby Jean Fields Stroupe, Lincolnton, passed away March 16, 2012, at her residence. She was born March 1, in Gaston County to Mary Fields Poarch of Dallas, N.C. and the late Jack Poarch.
Shelby was employed by Cornwell Drug and Riverside Seafood. She attended Crouse Baptist Church.
She is survived by sons, Todd Stroupe and Ann of Lincolnton, Chad Stroupe and Annette of Dallas, N.C.; brother, Steve Poarch of Dallas; sister, Joyce Watkins of Dallas, N.C., Roseann Curran of Taylor, S.C.; grandchildren, Austin, Seth, and Wesley Stroupe.
A funeral service will be held on today at 4 p.m. at Sisk-Butler Funeral Home Chapel, Bessemer City with Revs. Fain Farmer and Darrell Bost officiating. Visitation will be today from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Long Creek Cemetery, Dallas, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Allen â€œSoupieâ€ Stroupe.

HICKORY â€” Mr. John Daniel Shults, age 68, of the Brian Center West in Hickory, died on Saturday, March 17, 2012.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 atWarlick Funeral Home.
Mr. Shults was born April 29, 1943 in Sevier County, Tenn. to the late Jenson Castleton and Lottie Elder Dockery Shults. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, R.A. Shults and a sister, Anita Shults James. Mr. Shults served in the United States Army and then later worked as a security guard.
He is survived by a brother, Jenson Carroll Shults of Iron Station; two sisters, Mary Ethel Shults Gibson of Gastonia and Ada Viola Shults Smith of Maiden; and a number of nieces and nephews.
